Since its inception in 1989 by Ian MacKechnie, Amscot has grown to over 230 locations statewide, serving more than 7 million Floridians each year and employing over 1,500 residents.
"We started Amscot with the belief that every Floridian should have access to fair, reliable financial services," said Ian MacKechnie, CEO of Amscot. "Each new location helps us provide families and individuals with the tools to manage unexpected expenses and plan for a secure financial future."
Like all Amscot locations, the new stores offer various services, including cash advances, check cashing, money orders, bill payments, transfers, notary services, ATMs, and payment processing for utility bills, court citations, child support, and other legal obligations. These services are provided under strict regulatory oversight, ensuring transparency and consumer protection.
Amscot is committed to promoting financial stability by adhering to Florida's consumer protection laws. These laws limit customers to one outstanding short-term loan at a time, require mandatory cooling-off periods, and cap loan amounts and fees.
In addition to supporting customers, Amscot invests over $10 million annually in employee training to ensure its team members are equipped to help customers achieve their financial goals.
